Horses of Course offers a wide variety of services and learning opportunities. Learning and appreciation of the horse is a core principle which guides the organization of our programs.
At Horses of Course, we offer Western, Hunter/Jumper, and Dressage riding lessons for individuals of all abilities between the ages of 8 and 70. Riding lessons for Veterans are also available.
We value the expertise of well known riders and trainers from around the Midwest and periodically ask them to teach clinics at Horses of Course. FEI Dressage rider and trainer, Bill Coester, and Nationally Recognized Reining rider and trainer, Doug Bogart are among the clinicians who have visited Horses of Course.

Barn Tours and Guided Rides
Community outreach and collaboration is very important to us. Therefore, we offer interactive barn tours for local youth groups, non-profits and churches. Visitors are able to walk through the barn, learn about basic horse care and groom a horse. Visiting groups take a 45 minute interactive tour or a 2 hour tour and guided ride where they are lead by a volunteer.
Augustana College and 4H Involvement
We are the host barn for a local 4H club, the Augustana College Equestrian Club, and IHSA Equestrian Teams.
The Denim and Dust 4H club is based out of Horses of Course and is primarily a horse oriented club. Most of the members lease school horses and attend local 4H shows and participate in the Muscatine County Fair.
For more than 10 years, the Augustana Equestrian Club and Team has taken lessons at Horses of Course and are coached by HOC instructor Julie Mann. They compete at IHSA horse shows with other colleges throughout the country. There are both IHSA Hunter/Jumper and Western Riding teams.
